could some one be so kind and give me some direction?
I have a 125 reef tank and the time has come to replace my actinic bulbs.
the tank currently has dual 420nm x4 plus 3 150 watt metal halide bulbs.
should I go with the same bulbs i know they bring out the color's of the coral and fish but
are they the best or is there a better option.

i think what you have is great. are the actinic bulbs T5s or PC?

The halides are your main punch, so the actinics are perfect supplemental bulbs IMO. I would just stick with what you have unless you are unhappy with your tanks color.

To the first question they are p.c .T5's were not as prevalent when i purchased my lights
and i thank you for your input!
To the next reply no i'm not unhappy with the color. To be honest the tank looks like the sun is directly over it .I get that real bright shimmer just like you would see from a boat in crystal clear
water.I was just curious if there was a color spectrum that would benefit the fish and corals better. I thank you very much for your reply some times people hesitate to reply.
