Prottein skimmer

hello! :-) i bought a aquarium package from my local fish store, and it came with a protein skimmer by a company i have never heard of. "Aqua Clear Aquatics" and the label says that they are based in jacksonville florida. is this a good brand? or should i return it and try to get something else?

I, personally, have not heard of Aqua Clear Aquatics, so I can not comment on the performance of that protein skimmer.
