Can you please post pics of larger superman montipora as I've heard some people claim that the growth patterns of it is not really nice, just encrusting on LR and filling instead of upwards growth?
Thanks

That's what they are... an encrusting montipora. Still beautiful if you ask me. I'd post a pic of mine, but someone would have to send me a frag of one first :)

Maroun, you're right, the monti which post people refer to as superman is an encrusting one which will not grow branches. Still pretty cool looking though...

I trotally agree that its one of the nicest corals. Can't believe how lucky I was to find a frag on my trip to Ohio just on the day I was heading to the airport. however just wanted to see how it will eventually develop as you only see frag pics of this coral.
One thing I would love to experiment with is fraging a piece of mine when it's big enough and fixing it on the skeleton of a cap or a digitata as that would look really different I guess.

Nice pics
Can you please share how long it took to grow this much?

Thanks Steve. It's starting to grow into other acros... I guess that's the downside to encrusting coral - It grows in every direction and is hard to get off the rock.

maroun.c - It was 1 year, 3 months between pics.
