I am trying to gather just alittle helpful info on how yall have built your skimmer stands for inside the sump?

I have to raise mine anywhere from 3-5 inches.

Thanks

PS the skimmer footprint is 11"x14" to my recollection.

the cheapest way would be eggcrate and zipties.....or you can use acrylic but the material is more money.....:)hth.....

I already have extra PVC that I have cut to the height I need and then I have some extra pieces of glass that I hope will fit corretly into the skimmer section.

well, i used glass.. mainly because i ordered a bunch of pieces when i was making my sump. my problem is when i had to remove my skimmer to do some cleaning. the suction cups that are attached to the pumps dont let go and are a pain in the butt. i always have to unhook the pumps and hope that when im pulling on it that the glass stand doesnt fall too hard and crack the bottom of my sump. if i had to do it again, i would prob do it cheap and use some 4or 5in pvc and make a stand and then put a piece of egg crate on top. plus its light weight and easy to remove if you need to get under the skimmer.

just buy eggcrate, as troylee said.

Make a box with an open top, using five cut panels of it and zip tie them together. Cheap, easy and does not block flow/trap detritus

eggcrate is soooo much easier and cheaper.
