Hello,

I know I need float switches, but what else?

Do I stll need the power supply? Any special connectors?

Thanks

If you use a float switch, you need to connect the two wires to pins 1 and 2 (please verify the pin numbers in the manual) of the serial port. So to answer your question, you just need the mini-din connector, the pins will supply the power, so no need for external power. If you have the serial cable from neptune, I think you can open the db9 side and solder the wires from the ATO to the wires that go to the IO input pins.

Your other, more simplified and probably safer option, is to just turn on the ATO pump at fixed time intervals. you can always add or reduce the "on" time to match the evaporation rate of your tank.
