I'm new to fragging and I need to prune up my Giant GSP colony. How long can I keep him out of the tank while I snip him up?

Thanks.

You should be safe with up to fifteen minutes. However, I suggest taking the mother out and filling a shallow dish with tank water. Then cut, put the mother back in the dish, mount the frag, repeat

Yeah im not going to be mounting anything and I'm doing some really quick snips, nothing fancy.

Thanks!

I've taken GSP out of water for over 30 minutes with no ill effect. Once back in the water, it took awhile for it to completely open, but some polyps were out within 15 minutes.

I try to keep it under 30 minutes, but they should be able to stay out of water for at least a couple hours without any real problems. If I'm fragging a lot of stuff, I usually do what Doolin suggested. I have a small container filled with salt water where I put the corals I'm not actively working on.
