I have one lone Blue Reef Chromis in my tank. Was looking at adding some Blue Green Chromis due to not being able to find any more Blue Reefs locally. I read that adding odd numbers is best with Chromis. This leads to my question. Should I add 2 or 3 Blue Green, since I already have one Blue reef? Or being a different subspecies of fish, will it matter?

I am not sure of the best numbers, but I can tell you how NOT to do it. About a year ago, I had one bg chromis and I added a blue reef chromis thinking all would be good. The bg chromis kicked the #@$% out of the blue reef chromis and ended up chewing his tail off.

It could have been an isolated thing, but be careful.

I have them mixed in my tank and they swim around eachother with no problems. Then again they have around 500gal of swimming room.
