Im going to be setting up a 29gal biocube that is about 4 years old. Not sure of the lighting in it and what the "stock" lighting will support for corals. Im wanting to do just zoo's and mushrooms and softies in the tank with maybe just a couple clowns.
Will the stock lighting handle that? Also whats the best way for the on top filtration to be setup? Run carbon, ammonia pads?
Any input would be great. There will be no sump or refuge for now on the tank.
Thanks!

The stock lighting on those is power compacs and they are perfect for zoos, shrooms and softies. You may even be able to get away with a few LPS if you get them higher in the tank.
I'm not sure what is meant by "on top filtration"... but the water flows into chamber one on the right side and the "stock" filter pad sits upright in chamber one just before the overflow into chamber two. The "stock" filtration for chamber two is the bioballs.
I cut the extra ledge off between chamber one and two to give more flow and removed the filter pad in chamber one. I left enough bioballs in chamber two to cover the bottom and then placed a filter sock with Chemi-pure elite, sea-chem denitrate and some kent marine phosban in it... this sits on top of the bioballs on the right side of chamber two where the water flows right into it.
And then you have the sponge at the bottom between chamber two and three... just rinse it out every so often.

It looks like the lighting for the biocube is NO t8's are they going to support zoo's and mushrooms. When the tank was setup before it did support mushrooms but not sure of zoos or ricordia's??
Thanks

You should be fine with zoos and ricordias with the stock lighting.

You think standard t8's would be ok for zoos and mushrooms?

I have had a 29 gallon BioCube setup with the standard lights for the last 8 months and have thriving zoa's, mushrooms, anthelia, and also hammer and open brain corals...you will have no problems with your coral list.
However, I would recommend that you do not add live rock to any chamber in the back of the unit...and that you consider looking at a either the CPR Aquatics or Sapphire skimmers to add to chamber 2
Also, I modified chamber 1 by gently pulling out the false bottom and dremeling out all the "grill" portion of the bottom and only leaving the main "frame"...this way I can both put a heater in chamber 1 and also modify the sliding filtration piece by removing the original floss and replacing with a carbon filter pad every other week or so...when I'm runnign the carbon filter pad for a week, every day I use my turkey baster and suspend the detritus which the filter pad catches nicely.
just some suggestions to consider based on my experience using the BioCube 29...which I won't be having running anymore in about a month after my 75 build is done :)

Mine is not a "Bio Cube" but a 29gal tank that is about 5 years old that has a filtration in the top back not on the whole back side. Its just T8 florescent lamps in there 2 bulbs. A skimmer is not going to be possible and will have to just use media in the top and water changes.... Just trying to get ideas of what would grow in there...and media for filtration. Im thinking of upgrading the bulbs in it to T5's just not sure if i can fit 2 or just 1.
