Well, I got all the fish sold so now I'm putting the tank up for sale.

The tank is an ELOS 160XL 200g Rimless Crystal Glass tank and is approximately two years old. Fliger bought it new and I bought it from him. If you want to see my build thread it is here:

http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1467787

Elos tanks are made in Italy and then shipped here. They are by far some of the best built fish tanks and made to withstand certain levels of earthquakes. The bottom is almost 1 1/2 inches thick with 1/2" thick side panels and it the heaviest tank I have moved. The tank has a single overflow with a great design that you can actually run power cords down into the stand through. The return pump is a single Eheim 1260. The sump is the Elos sump 4000 that has a great design with 5 chambers to include mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration. The sump has an area for top off water as well.

I am only listing:

Tank: Elos 160XL in very good condition
Sump: 4000 in very good condition
Elos NS4000 Protein skimmer in almost new condition with its two Eheim 1260 pumps. It holds probably half gallon of skim
Stand: White with Dark brown doors. Custom ordered to 36" instead of normal 30.5". It is the perfect height.
Two acrylic trays that I had built to go under the stand to catch any water.

The tank is still running and I will not list all my other equipment until the tank sells. Buyer would have first pick of equipment including new vortechs, 48" Powermodule, chiller, etc...

If you want to read about Elos tanks, look here:

Protein Skimmer:

The tank alone costs about $5000 with another $3000 for the package including the stand, skimmer, sump, and an osmocotroller. Shipping by freight is very expensive as well on top of that. I don't have the osmocontroller but I have included the acrylic trays which were close to the same price to have built.

I am asking $4400 obo. Send PM if you would like to see it.

Thanks,

Jay

I thought everything through except the part where our politicians would be so fiscally irresponsible that they put city budgets in huge deficits. Then when the money they believed would keep pouring in stops, the first thing they approve is layoffs for the people that helped them get elected. I still have a job but wife was laid off and there just isn't many good jobs out there right now.

I'm sorry to hear that. The economy will turn around one day and the hobby will be there again. I waited more than 10 years to get back into it buying my last big tank in 1993. It leaked and the salt water found foor vents and ruined the heating ac system ducts. The cost and trouble ended my hobbie.
Only now w my children leaving the house did I decide to fund the hobbie again. I decided on the Elos because I believe their tanks are the most beautiful leak proof manufactured tanks around. The 1st biotope will be freshwater to observe the system and understand costs and waiting 6 or more months to switch over to marine. Less start up equiptment too. I left the hobbie for a time and it's only gotten better now, something to look forward too.

Believe me, I've been thinking about it. I also need to get someone to hook me up with a truck. Hmmm... things to ponder. ;)
