JoergB, I am very interested in your Sunpower lighting fixture, but like many on here, I do not want to hang mine. Because of this I cannot decide between yours and another that will sit on the top of my tank.
When I read through reefcentral and other message boards, it appears many people would like to mount the light with feet directly on their tank. If you look around, you can eve see the elaborate lengths people have gone to, to avoid hanging it from the ceiling. They have build their own feet, had brackets custom fabricated, and created brackets on the wall.
Is there any chance that ATI will sell an accessory that will allow us to mount this on the tank? If this was available I will purchase one today. Thanks

I live in an apartment, so drilling into the ceiling or walls isn't really an option. Instead of making something out of electrical conduit to hang the fixture from, I'd gladly buy feet stands if offered.

Hello,
first of all, I am responsible for sales and organization only. I am no technician!
When we started to design the new Sunpower, we discussed this feature, too.
We talked to some of our Beta-Tester and our dealers in Germany. There was no real interest in mounting brackets for installation on the tank.
So we decided to leave out this option. But, I can follow your arguments and I should have known better, because I lived in the USA for approx. 1 year. This was 20 years ago and I forgot a lot of English words, but I hope you can guess my words ;).
When we moved out I had to pay about 500$ for repairs caused by drilling holes into walls for photos.
Back to topic:
I will talk to my boss and the technician, what is possible to offer this option.
Regards
joerg

I am going to extreme measure to have a custom made acrylic legs so I can mount the PM on top of my tank. If the local acrylic specialist can't come up with a good one for me, I will be hanging a shelf and have the light hang from there. I wish there was an option to purchase mounting legs for the ATI PM. For those of us with high ceiling, the standard mounting way is not an option. I placed a call to reefgeek and spoke with Greg. He said there is no plan to having mounting legs as an option at this time. I hope that changes soon.

Anything new on a tank mount? I have a fixture and am trying to figure out how to mount it.
I see people referencing acrylic legs that have been built. Does anyone have a link to pics of what people have done. I can't hang mine.
Thanks.
