What about giant elephant ear mushrooms? Is that considered one coral polyp?

Need a couple quick questions answered, thanks in advance.

Yes, "heads" of LPS are polyps.

"Mushrooms" are corallimorpharians, which are classified separately from true corals in older classification systems. However, they are descended from hard corals, so more recent classifications group them within the true corals. Yes, with them, each mushroom is a polyp.
