I have used both versions of the LinkSys (G and N) and they do what I need but there are others and I expect nearly any GA will work.

I just got done installing a TRENDnet gaming router from newegg - worked just fine, and way cheaper than the Linksys ones that I could find locally..

Why is it called a "gaming adapter" if it's just an ethernet to wireless bridge?

i took an old wrt54g Linksys router and turned it into a wireless bridge by replacing the operating code with dd-wrt. It connects back to my router/wireless AP that Verizon put in.

its called a gamming adapter for maketing to x-box play station etc... it is just a bridge tho.

Yup - it's just marketed towards the masses who would have no idea what an "ethernet to wireless bridge" would be.
