I have a 75g tank that I will use as a sump. I need to get the glass cut for the baffles but I wanted it to be precise. I measured roughly 17inches for the inside.

Just curious if this was close?

Cut a piece of cardboard with that measurement & slide down into sump. May need to take off some as some tanks are slightly tighter down at the base. Better to be slightly loose, IMO, as silicone can make up alot.

I definitely agree that a little loose is better than tight... A friend of mine had his sump crack and leak where the baffle was in too tight. Luckily, his sump is out in his garage, so the almost 40g of water flowing out wasn't too big of a deal for him.
