I have a 29g Marineland tank with the all in one hood...currently with 2 18w daylights

I am looking to upgrade the lighting to a T5 setup and was wondering what setup would be best or have others used...maybe pics?

Most of the lights I have seen cover the whole tank top...which mine cant because of the filtration hence my dilemma.

Space Dimensions are L-30" W-9"MAX

Thanks in advance

Would I need to upgrade the bulds for corals?

No. Those are reef colored bulbs. 1, 10k, and 1 430mn (blue).

Buy two fixtures, and your set.

OR you could buy a 36" fixture, and hang it from the ceiling.

Respectfully disagree - those bulbs don't have the PAR of higher end bulbs (ATI, KZ, Aquascience, etc.), and visually just aren't that nice looking IMO. I had some of these with my first T5 setup, and was amazed at the difference it made when switched over to ATI bulbs.

Well, switching or buying "better" bulbs is not totally necessary. You can do just fine with the stock bulbs. Are the ATI bulbs better? Yes. Are the stock bulbs fine for a reef tank? Yes.

I don't know, but the stock T5 bulbs on my fixture are hella nice. Would I like to upgrade? If anyone else made 18" bulbs, yes.
