How long will a acans stay bleach out, I thank this is the problem with this new one I saved from aquarium store today . I have been watching this for about two weeks . http://i387.photobucket.com/albums/oo313/kurtflys/Picture002.jpg

What type of lighting are you using? Do you have it shaded well? It can vari based on the tlc you are giving.

I have pc on in the morning 11:00am mh comes on.and pc go out , then at 8:00pm mh go out .and pc back on intell 10:00pm then moon lights come on at 9:50pm intell morning. I just got the acan on top today.

Are acans sensitive to too much light? What are their lighting preferences?

IMO less is better and i have messed around alot with lighting and acans . they will extend their polyps in dimmer light conditions . some of mine extend two inches under low light and tighten right to the skeliten under high light conditions .

I have a variety of them 30 inches down under 400 W. Radiums.

I accidentally bleached 2 indo acans by removing a rock that provided shade. I put them on the bottom of the tank and under a rock to give them almost all shade. They hardly get any light and their color came back within a month.

Acans prefer less light and IMO like light in the blue range because in the wild they are usually found in deeper depths where there is more blue light...
