Tried to hook up to aqua notes, but i get the not responding message. The only thing I can think off is a wrong port, but I tried every option. Using a serial to usb adapter, in device manger it shows up as unknown with no drivers. I have a disk with the drivers but it wont install them. Runnign XP

what is weird is this is not the first time I tried, I have connected many times before, the last time was 6 months ago, dont know what I did differently then.

Also the troubleshooting shows this---

4. On the AquaController make sure setup->serial setup->rs232 is enabled. This is the default setting, but may have inadvertently been changed.

5. On the AquaController make sure setup->login setup->login is disabled. This is the default setting, but may have inadvertently been enabled

I dont ever have those options on my Jr.

Any ideas?

If the USB to serial adapter is not showing up on Windows' Device manager (ports com & lpt), then AquaNotes will not be able to use it. It sounds like there is a driver problem with the adapter. So either the adapter is broken, the wrong driver is being used, or windows is somehow screwed up. Contact the USB to serial adapter manufacturer, and they should be able to help you get the driver problem resolved.

Items # 4 & 5 are for the older AC2 controller. They aren't on a Jr.

i was suspecting the connector as the problem- it is a cheapo no name brand off ebay.

What is weird is that it worked before. Maybe a windows update affected the driver in some way.
