Ok I have a plan for having my house tented for termites. I'm going to seal up the entire tank, stand, hood and all. 4 mil or greater plastic from the floor up and over all sides. One continuous piece taped thoroughly around the base of the stand. Okay then I'm going to run my pool vacuum hose through the doggie door from outside and put it through the"plastic aquarium bubble" Tightly sealed of course. Then outside away from the tented house I will use a small shop vac's output to blow fresh air into the "fish in a plastic bubble". This should create a positive air flow that would exit any minute leaks in the enclosed area. All circulation and sumps will function as normal - just the lights will be out. I've decided that this should be easier and as effective as trying to use air pumps, tubing and air stones.
NOW my problem. They turn off the air conditioning during the tenting process and I did not know I needed tenting during the cooler months. So - I'm hoping someone has a chiller around that they could loan me for 48 hrs???? I am also willing to rent it. The only other idea I can think of would be to pre freeze some bottles of salt water and float them in the tank. However without being able to access the house to monitor and regulate the temp. I will probably either freeze the tank or keep it cool - only to have the ice melt and have the temp rise anyway before I can reenter.
Chiller anyone? If so let me know. And If the chiller won't be needed for several weeks. I will be manning a grill next to old Russ at FAOIS tomorrow. I will gladly give you all the Hot dogs and burgers you can eat for a chiller delivery, SHHH don't tell anyone I'm giving you this special offer. ;-)
