Hello everyone,
Ok, heres the deal. I'm in the planning phase of a larger plywood tank upgrade. I'm going between a 96" x 36" x 27" (approx. 375 gal.) or what i'd really like to do is a 96" x 48" x 27" (approx. 500 gal.) The problem i'm having is my lighting. I currently have (3)- 400 watt lumenarc minis over my 180. I would like to re-use, at least, my bulbs and ballasts. I'll also be using a light mover for that extra 2' in length so taht shouldn't be a problem. I feel that i can re-use the lighting, almost as is, with the 36" wide tank but i really wanted to go with the 48" width. I have also built a bracket that currently supports (2)- VHO bulbs on the front and (2)- VHO on the back of the lumenarcs for a total of 4 VHO bulbs.
Do ya'll think that 3- large lumenarcs with (4)- t-5 bulbs in front and (4)- T-5's in the back will have enough light spread over a 48" wide tank? The tank will house mostly SPS so i'll need good light spread. Any ideas or input is welcome!
