Hi,
I'm new to the hobby, tank about 4 months old. A couple weeks ago I bought a Torch Coral from LFS- I'm running a 24 gallon nanotank and I added this lighting MOD so running : 132watts total now with two additional actinics:

anyway- The torch i bought looked similar to this one:

It was on the larger side of medium if that makes any sense. About $145 at LFS price wise. Fairly large piece in my 24 gallon nano. Anyway when I brought it home the next day 2 of the heads were dead (blecahed white) with no more coral life at all extending and 1 looked like it was dying, tissue seperation.
The coral probably has about 8 to 10 branch heads total. So 2 in the back are dead and one in the front. This happened within 4 days of adding to tank. I thought the whole thing was going to die but it didn't-
Anyway 2 weeks later it looks like it is doing very well. No more head loss so far- and the remaining coral is very robust.
My question is are torch corals capable or regenerating the dead heads and will it grow coral out of them again? Or are they done for? 2 of the 3 are in the back of the coral but 1 is towards the bottom front. Not a huge deal, just wondering what to expect.

If the dead heads will regenerate maybe there is something I could be dosing to speed up or aid in the process?

Any input would be greatly appreciated-

Thanks,
TryP

i dont think that the heads will regenerate, but the healthy heads will be able to produce more heads around its base.

They wont regenerate however if the torch grows there is a
good chance it will eventually cover over the dead part with
new growth albeit slowly.
