What kind and how big of a heater you guys recommend for a 150g + 40g sump tank?

PS. The heater will be plug into a temp controller.

I have been using the via aqua titanium heaters for years now they work great and you don't have to worry about them breaking. I have also used the ebo jager ones I think the older ones are a lot better then the newer ones I noticed on mine and some other ones condensation inside them I stopped using them after I saw that

How many watts should I shot for?

I second the titanium ones as well ... no need to worry about heaters shattering. Ebo-Jagers are nice heaters as well. On most of my tanks, I am just using a Visitherm or two :)
I normally use 3-4 watts to the gallon. Sometimes less, and sometimes more.
