Hello, been in the market for a UV. Just making sure the Gamm 25wt is sufficient for my 120g reef. I do have a sump/total 140g.
Let me know if the Gamma UV is a good choice.
Thank You!
I like that the light is viewable!

Hreef,

Thank you for your inquiry. When choosing equipment for your aquarium it is a matter of personal preference. The Gamma UV sterilizer is a good choice however, we would recommend the 40 watt as this is better suited for the size of your aquarium. You may also want to look at the 18 watt Turbo Twist (http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=7999) as this is rated for aquariums up to 250 gallons and is currently on sale for $144.49. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns.

What kind of pump is recommeded for the 40wt? Will a Maxi Jet 1200 be ok....and one more thing....does the 40wt have the viewable light....I like this feature.
Thank You Again!

Holly,

Thank you for your reply. The 40 watt Gamma UV Sterilizer does have a viewing window and requires a pump that has a 2,880 gph rating. We recommend the Quiet One 9000 which has a flow rate of 2,328. With this pump, you would also need an adaptor that goes from 1 ½” to 2” as the fittings on the pump are smaller than the UV sterilizer. We apologize as we do not carry adaptors this size however, they can be purchased at any local hardware store. If we can be of any further assistance, please feel free to contact us.
