Hi, I have had what I suspect are Aiptaisa on a Favia colony for a long time. They never spread or got any bigger so I just always watched them carefully. Last night I decided to try to kill them So I mixed up some kalk paste and blasted them with it. I got them pretty good and they immediately recoiled. I haven't seen them since. Could they be dead already? Its been about 24 hours and I haven't seen any of them. They were kinda small only about a 1/4" diameter.

Or they retreated into the rock only to reemerge in less inhospitable territory. You'll know that by observing your tank for a few days.

Thanks, Hopefully I got them. But I will keep a close eye on the area for the next week.
If they were to re emerge, about how long does it generally take?
If they don't retreat into the rock it only takes a few seconds of kalk to kill aiptasia. However if you "blast them" they're not around that long.
They can hide out for a week or two.

Well I just used the trem "blast" but I didn't use much force. I used a pipette from a Salifert titration test kit. And gently pushed the paste onto them. I definetly got it directly on at least a half of them. But they still retreated into the rock.

So I just went to check because I haven't seen any since the other day. But today there are some of them back. So should I just keep going it until there all gone or should I try something else. They are on a Favia colony so I could take the whole thing out and dip it. Is there a dip that will kill aiptasia but not the coral??
