I have a 1/5 HP as do 2 of my friends. We live in Florida, so this time of year with thunderstorms there is a lot of power outages or just an on/off flicker. Just this week, my two friends experienced just a flicker of power on seperate days, and both chillers reset to 57 DEGREES. That's right, the one friend didn't notice until his 110 gallon reef tank was 62 degrees. The other friend caught it at 74 degrees. I got lucky and had no problem.

For some reason, the chiller didn't reset back to it's last setting which was programed at 77 degrees. I am wondering if anyone else experienced anything like this with the chiller? You can't put it on a battery backup, because if power stays off, you are not suppose to run the chiller without any flow. I would think there is a simple solution, but maybe a manufacturing defect? We plan on contacting JBJ mext week.
