How many of you keep sps under T5s? What wattage of bulbs, length of fixture. depth of tank. and pics if availiable. My rimless is only 16" deep and Im going to run 6x54 watt T5s after seeing outstanding sps growth and colors. Just curious who does around here

I have a few sps growing under 4-18" 36watt T5's. My tank hasnt been up for very long (as Im sure u already know) but I got most of them from WWC and they are showing growth and the colors are still just as bright as the day I got them. If you havnt been to WWC they have all their corals under MH. Like I said I havent had mine for long but they seem to be doing really well.

There's a few threads on this in the SPS forum. There's even a "show me pics of your T5 SPS tank" type thread.

yeah thats where I started my thinking of going T5 over halide. I think its an all around better option for me. I doubt I would see any differance other than the shimmer, and I can do that with an LED and a reflector.

I have a few different SPS now under T-5s 36" 6x39W on my 50 Breeder. The more bulbs u can cram in the better I wish I had 8 bulbs instead. :)

I was getting fantastic growth in my tank, running both LPS and SPS. 8 x 36" overdriven. Future projects include adding another 4 lamps if I can squeeze them in.
i love T5.

I think 8x54 watt would be too much for a shallow tank. But its an option

Why not 6 or 8 x 48"?
I wouldn't go less than 6.

the light Im getting is 6 x 54 watt. 8 x 54 watt would be too much light
