I'm working on setting up my RKL and I'm not sure if what I'd like to do is possible, here is the scenario:

I would like a cooling fan to be on if the lights are on no matter what (regardless of tank temp to keep the t5 fixture cool) AND to turn off if the lights are off and the tank temp dosen't require the fan.

Is it possible to do multiple conditions like that?

If you are using the PC4 to control the lights then yes.

1st, set up Lights on PC4-x

2nd, set PC4 -Y for fan to:

Controller: Device: PC4-x

Value: .50
ON
WHen ABOVE

for the second part (tank temp), set up an alarm

Press [Menu] scroll to "Outputs", press [Enter] scroll to the channel you want to program as a Chiller/Fan. Note the flashing light on 1-4 will match a flashing status light on the corresponding PC4. Press [Enter].

Mode: Do not adjust "Mode" this will be taken care of automatically.

Function: Controller
Scroll down to "Function" and press [Enter] then scroll down to "Controller" and press [Enter]

Device: iTemp
This is where you select the temp probe you will use to control the heater. We'll use "iTemp" (the temp probe supplied with each RKL.) Scroll down to iTemp and press [Enter]. Note any temp probe may be used when programming a Chiller/Fan.

SetPoint: 79.0
Set the target temp you want the Chiller/Fan to be active at. Lets use 79.0 for this example. Scroll down to "SetPoint" and press [Enter]. Pressing [up] or [down] will select a value for the flashing digit press [Enter] to move to the next digit. Pressing [Enter] at the last digit will take you back to the previous screen to move on to the next step.

Hysteresis: See page 11 for a description of hysteresis and how it's used here.
I would set hysteresis for 0.2 for a fan or chiller to keep my tank stable but not cycling my chiller or fans on/off all the time. Set Hysteresis like you set the SetPoint. Note this is different than I showed for the heater because chillers in-particular don't like to be cycled as frequently. If you're setting a fan you can tighten the hysteresis to 0.1.

On When: "Above"
With “On When” flashing, press [Enter] and scroll to "Above" and press [Enter] to select. This tells the control function that you want the device (in this case a Chiller/Fan,) to come on when the "iTemp" temp probe reads above the Set Point plus the Hysteresis (as described.)

Once set, press [Back] until "Function" is blinking. At this point the channel you've selected is programmed as a Chiller or Fan that will come on when your tank heats up above the point you've set. Pressing [Back] again will display the channel with a blinking "Save" press [Enter] to save your setup or back to discard it.

You can press [Back] until you're at the home screen or proceed to the next channel by scrolling [up] or [down].
