I got ich from a lfs. Should I turn off my skimmer while i treat my tank? I have a fish only..

Basics are:
All fish must be put in QT tank fo 6 weeks. Sick or not.
DT must remain Fish Free and at 80 deg for 6 weeks for ick to die.
Keep running your skimmer and lights, water changes etc..

QT tank can be as simple as a 10 gal tank or a rubbermaid tub.
Needs heater, powerhead, cheep light, cheep HOB filter
NO rock or sand in QT tank
Can use PVC tubes for structure if you want.

DT tank gets treated by not having fish for the 6 weeks
