you simply connect the two wires of a float switch (you can buy from places like Grainger for $12) to pins 1 and 2 of the serial port. then add two lines of program to turn your topoff water pump on or off. I use two pumps, one for kalk which comes on if ph<8.3 and one for freshwater which comes on once ph > 8.29.

i have an autotopoff plugged into one of my dc8 ports, and i have my acjr programmed to run it between 6:30 and 7 am or something in the morning.

i did this because the ato was constantly going on and off and tripping my gfci every couple hours... it has been running this new way for a few days now without tripping anything.

you already spent 100 on a jbj ato why not use it?? and free up a socket on your dc8??
