i have been shopping for a ballast for two 250w sunlight supply pendants, the ones with the funny plug. i see they have a dual that will run on 220v, will this save electricity? i also see the lumatek 220v ballast, is this any good? is the 220v a bad idea? significant savings? do the dual ballasts work ok? any other options? sorry for so many questions. thank you for any help you can give.

The lumateks will draw almost have the amps, and they are great ballasts with a 5 yr war.

watts are watts. 110v, 220v, 10million volts. the watts are still the same. Where you see increases in efficiency is on power lines due to higher voltage loosing less to resistance in the wire.

Yes a 220v anything uses half the amps, but it uses twice the voltage so the net difference in actual power usage is 0.

galaxy is an excellent ballast and plugs right into your reflectors. I would get a 110v dual ballast if thats the route you want to go. I prefer single ballasts simply due to reliability. It is much easier to get one ballast repaired and still have one running should anything go wrong.
