Or any other suggestions, All that is working for me is manual removal and its a losing battle.
would a UV sterilizer help?
My specs are 65g reef 30g sump Chaeto ball, ATI BM 200, weakly ro/di water changes. DSB. about 100lbs of LR.
Nitrates are undetactable but im sure they are there. I tried a phosban reactor but it has no effect on the bubble algea also I run a little carbon cup.
I have no other algea no other problems but this bubble algea is tuff!
thanks for any help!

Emerald crabs are always advised, but all the ones I tried walked right past every bubble.
I have not tried them, but the Red Sea Sailfin Tang(Desjardini) is supposed to like eating it.
I ended up breaking down my entire tank and scrubbing it off every piece of rock- which was then progressivley dunked in 3 buckets of water. I did a 100% watewr change and thoroughly cleaned the tank. That was ~2 years ago, and I have not seen it since.

I've seen an Atlantic Blue and a Red Sea sailfin tang eat it first hand. The emerald crabs didn't seem to notice.
FWIW.

How do they eat it :)- do they suck in the whole bubble or just tear at it? What size bubbles do they go after?

All sizes. They would tear right through it like it was nori on a clip.

I have a purple tang that is eating it like candy. I have gone through several emerald crabs and have not had any luck with them either.

i have never physically seen an emerald crab eat it,but i have had my tank a little over a year.had an emerald crab from week 1.i never saw any bubble algae.i even put a few small rocks i bought from an lfs in there that had a small amount of it on them.it never lasted and never spread.within the last 2 or 3 months i noticed the crab had dissappeared.now i am starting to see bubble algae pop up.

I see my Emerald eat BA all the time.
I've got a juvenile Vlamingi tang went after the bubble algae the moment it was introduced into my 120g. I didn't purchase the said tang, got it for free when a friend of mine bought the whole tank set from a lfs that was closing down and his wifey doesn't like the look of the tang.
