What size tank and what else do you have in there?

You should be fine no matter what size.
One fish is an acanthurus and the other is a naso
I currently have a vlamingii, sohal, yellow, purple, and scopas with my dussimer

You right I don't know why I was thinking both were acanthurus

That's a little cavalier to state that the tank size doesnt matter. Surgeonfish can show aggression between genera, and cramming large fish in smaller tanks will amplify this. Considering both of those fish can breach 18", I would be very concerned about the tank size in combining these fish.

dussomier tangs can and will get very aggressive depending on size-I agree with the above post 100%

Mine had to be removed due to agression towards my black.

I was saying it doesn't matter what size the fish are in relation to each other because they are of different genera.
Obviously if you are keeping either of these fish you know how large they get and the accomodations they will need.

Utah it actually matters even if dif species- An established dussomier and or vice versa will certainly cause some stress. No reason for4 me to get rid of mine but had to happen. Each fish is a dif animal on its own.
So it can be done but in a much larger tank than the one in the post, even in a 200 a dussomier seems crowded.

Read through the post
He didn't say anything about the size of the tank
He was asking about the size of each fish

But, the size of the tank will be a factor.

In my experience they will be just fine. Orange shoulders are more mellow

At what size and how long does it take for them to get their adult colors?

That certainly is a nice big tank

I figured out your gallonage based purely on the dimensions and your tank is closer to 550+ gallons in size, which is definitly a good thing in regards to big tangs

Are dussimer tang aggressive? I read on liveaquaria and bluzoo that they were peaceful. But I was told they were aggressive by someone and I'm starting to think someone else said it also but can't remember

They can be very aggressive. I dont place them in the same group as sohals and achilles, but they get very big and they have the means to enforce their wishes.

I dont see them so much as aggressive as totally in control ;) Mine hasnt yet gone out of it's way to beat the snot out of other fish, but it doesnt take any lip from anyone either.
