Hi, folks. After gnawing on the idea of a reef tank for a while, I think I'm about ready to take the plunge. I'm thinking 90 gallons to fit the space I've got to work with. There's a slightly used Euro Reef 250 skimmer available at a very good price. Is that ridiculously oversized for this tank? Do you like that model? Any other thoughts?
Thanks...

Adding a sump at all? You should count that into your total water volume. Plus most skimmer manufactures over estimate for the tanks.....that said, I think you might be a bit over extended there. Guess you'll have to do like a 125 or a 180 instead :)

Yes, 90 plus sump, sorry. So maybe what, 120-140 or so total...?

Even though you add volume for the sump, the live rock takes up quite a bit of volume. You'll probably still be around 90 gallons of water.
How much will the Euro Reef cost you?

$150-ish.

For that price, I would jump on it and it will work fine for your system.

Thanks, all.
Anybody know why I ("forbidden") can't access the DIY large aquarium tank stand plans page?
