Hey guys, I received a small 2" size rock full of teeny tiny zoa's, about half the size of normal zoa's, and at the end of the rock was a tiny all pink Ricordia at the end. It has now grown to about .5" or about 1.5x the size of a quarter, and is starting to cover the zoa's that have covered the rock. I want to remove the Ric, but I don't know what's the best way, or how to.

Keep in mind, I have never fragged anything before. I've just bought frags, and watched them grow. Never needed to frag anything. (Had a larger tank before my current 14g) What's the easiest/best way to remove the Ric? Can it just be pulled from the rock and applied to another rock? And when transferring a Ric from rock to rock, is super glue an advised method?

TIA,

Well you can go about it different ways. You could buy some bone cutters from Marine Depot, or F&S and just cut the rock in two. Or you could cut the ric off with a piece of the rock still attached to it and then superglue it on something else. Or you could cut the ric off the rock and bridle vail net it to hold it on to a new piece of rock until it attaches.

Cutting off the rics foot would probably be the easiest way to do it

You can also try getting a strong blade, and removing a small flake of rock from under the ricordea, detaching it without harm to the zoanthids, and having a base to help reattach the ricordea to something else in the process,
