i think the tunze nanos aren't even controllable.

MP10... why? Because it's a vortech. :)

I use two 6055's and an aquasurf controller on my 32x32x16,I am able to get a nice 1" wave out of them.I think the 6055's will give a bigger wave than the mp10's because the flow is higher from the 6055's.

according to the specs from the manufacturers the mp10 has the higher flow rate

MP10: 1575 gph

6055: 1453 gph

The mp10 also includes a controller so it would be cheaper than the 6055 with a controller.

MP10 easily. Or two....

You don't want a bunch of cords and ugly pumps hanging out in a sweet little cube tank like that. THey are all about simplicity. MP10 will look the best by FAR.

And you dont want to "make a wave". It sounds cool I guess, but not so cool once you do it. Actually kind of a waste in reality...

I have two MP40W and prefer reef crest or pulse modes. The MP10 has that and that variation is the real "wavemaking" you want IMO.

vortec becuase they cost less, id have a external wave box for if i did tunze.

plus the vortech keeps the heat on the outside of the tank.

yea how much does a power head create is it really that much heat that is

well if you look at it by GPH then yes it creates heat. a 1000gph pump is going to heat some stuff up.

Heat added is best measured by the watts.

Either way, it probably should not be your main factor for a decision.

I think the aesthetics, ease of setup and maintenance, the included quality controller, higher GPH and awesome wide flow characteristics of vortecs in general all make it an easy choice.

None.........Get a mp20. We just got one for our 25g and its perfect. we took out both our maxi jets and replaced with just one mp20 and you could tell the difference right away. The sps loved it and had better PE almost right away. Plus with the 20 you can upgrade if you ever need to

I think the mp10 and mp20 are underpowered for a 60g cube. I plan on running two 6045 nano's plus two 3/4" returns.
I had a mp20 on a 23g frag tank and I wasn't impressed at all. I ended up selling the mp20 to buy a tunze.
A local reefer around me has a 24" cube and is running 2 mp40's. Of course he has to dial them down a tad.
I think two mp20's on the back would work good, but the mp10 or just 1 mp20 won't do the trick.

I have an MP20 on my 65 and its great. Its 36"x18"x24"high. I have the MP20 on 1 side for random flow and a Koralia 3 on the other. But I am going to get either another MP20 or an MP40 for the other side. I will probably get the MP40 because I am planning on upgrading soon. But if I wasn't I would probably only get another MP20. The flow isn't focused like a typical PH. Its very broad and gentle, but moves a ton of water. The undertow it creates it amazing. Some people are used to PH's shooting out a jet like stream that you can't even point at a coral without injuring it. But Vortechs have such a wide flow its both powerful and gentle at the same time.
