View Full Version : Addressing issues...

After reading a few posts around the forum, I felt a couple things needed to be addressed...

A point has been made that some customers may be frustrated, and feel we've spent more time on the RKL rather than the RKE system. The fact is all modules will work with either system so we're working on the entire family of ReefKeeper controllers! By releasing a module for one we're releasing a module for both!

I think it's important to know that we're building a flexible and power foundation with this family of controllers. Not two separate classes of customer like so many others do!

Second, timing on module releases... We're working to provide some of the most flexible and well thought out modules for a controller! Don't be mislead by imitations and knockoffs! We've got a number of things that are in the pipeline that we're just not able to announce. All I can reiterate is that we are listening to our customers (as we always have,) and I'm sure people will be happy with how the rest of the year will round out.

I hope this helps clear up some issues for now. We're looking forward to some exciting releases to come!

Thank you,

Scott

Sweet! Can't wait to hear about the next releases!

As far as RKE v. RKL, I will soon own both and I'm VERY grateful that you guys make them compatible with each other!

Right now the focus is on the SL2, SW5, PC1 as far as announced releases. (All will work with both units.)

Scott,

Some of that frustration is with Dates and language changing. Jsut to be honest, and I am not nit picking, stating something will be available end of Q2 and then stating you are meeting the date by allowing Pre-Orders for an item as the date draws near is not the same.

If the SL2 et, al; is not available for shipping 7/1, then to me, and many many other customers, you have not delivered it by the end of Q2. Simply state your slipping the date becasue you feel it's not ready and are working on it.

Many of us plan, and have planned things around the delivery dates you have stated. Your not a publicly held company. Stock isn't going to go down if you say "Hey, we are close but still working an a few things so you all get a rock solid product., so it will be a little longer than we anticipated.".

Just some constructive, and friendly comments. Please understand, I am not loading ay type of tone in this. Just that communication is a a key trust issue, and on announced items it should be clear and concise.

andywe,

Things happen and schedules shift... The reason for the ambiguity (if that's the right word for it...) is because we're getting certain dates shifted on us. We always try and plan for that, but there are things that we just can't control. In this case, yes the SL2 has slipped. However it's still our absolute intention to get it out as soon as it's ready.

The unit is (and has been) tested in the field and in house for a while now! So it's not the development that isn't ready, we're dealing with other obstacles. When we work to keep costs down sometimes that causes us delays... If you knew the whole store it would make more sense! ;)

I'll let it go at this point because there's nothing more I can share. I just wanted to address a couple issues and keep customers in the loop.

Thanks,

Scott

Many thanks for the info, Scott. And I don't mind to wait a little longer for cheaper prices. :)

Reading between the lines, since no work is being done on the RK-NET, does that mean no chance for remote control?

There's no between the lines... I was merely addressing questions from another post. We're not making any statements or announcements about any thing else or trying to imply anything.

It was not my intention for this thread to go in this direction. Speculation on any front is bad idea; we'll clearly post more info on other updates as we're ready! The next 6 months will be very exciting for DA and we're glad you're all around to enjoy it with us.

Thank you,
