Setting up my new 210 gallon reef tank...starting from scratch. I'm looking to buy my protein skimmer in the next couple days and am looking at the following 4:

Pacific Coast Imports PS-2000 Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer (up to 300 gal)

Octopus NWB-200 Needle Wheel Protein Skimmer (up to 250 gal)

If you have any experience with these skimmer or if you have any advice or warnings I'd love to hear them.

None of those you have selected are up to the task of skimming a 210 Reef.

Look at Reeflo,ATB,MSX,Hurricone...etc.... They all have models that will perform well on that tank.

I use a Reeflo 200 Pro on my 210 and it keeps up quite nicely.

Good luck

I'm going to throw an Octopuss Extreme 250 or MSX 250 on my 210g once I get it out of the garage.

Don't waste your money on the Coralife skimmers. I've run them on smaller tanks and they're not worth it.

Skip having a Protein Skimmer and just do water changes!
