I did we went as a trader. i tried to sell some frags. put it this way I had red planet frags and I only sold one out of 3 for pretty cheap just so I could make up for gas. I had a total of about 30 frags. I think there was 12 traders and 20-25 people come to buy frags. Dont get me wrong this has some good potential!! very well organized, good raffle prizes. just needs some time to grow I am sure next year will be better. Well put together just needed more people.

i went of course
agreed though we def needed more people - the traders had some awesome stuff to offer but there wern't many buyers and the buyers seemed to do more browsing then buying
i think the final door count was about 50 people
the swap was very well organized and there was tons of free raffle items - dry goods and corals
i was mostly shopping for my daughter but picked up a few for myself as well
my daughter spent her 100$ and got about 10 frags because they won 2 in the raffle, were given a couple by nwrs club members, and i bought them a duncan frag that was donated to the auction by f&s
i was looking for higher end stuff so spent quite a bit more but got some awesome frags including a 2 headed w/ 2 babies dendro. i also picked up a couple nice acros and montis and a true orange orange crush from the f&s auction. i think i bought 8 in all
bottom line though is if you didn't make it you missed out. there were so many awesome frags i couldn't decide where/how to spend my limited funds. and although i didn't buy any acan lords - there were tons of them for sale - from high end 3 - 4 color to basic stuff and all priced to sell. the trader/venders had some nice looking stuff all around
next year will be the f&s swap but we plan to try again in 2011

I did my usual 2 1/2 hour stint to get there.... and as said, excellent first show, alot of traders, and well organized....
Now the sales on the other hand... came out behind on this one..... Just needed more buyer participation....
I have to try and convince the wife to drive 4 hours to Milwaukee now in a couple months..... hopefully that show won't be a bust.... not a whole lot of talk about that one yet either.....
Man! I can't believe I missed out on those Red Planets!!

How did it compare to the MARS swap? I didn't go because I thought there wouldn't be enough traders with premium stuff to make the trip worth it. Sounds like I was wrong on that one! Were the coral prices reasonable?
If you've got frags left from the swap that didn't sell, post 'em!

yeah that was us
i picked up three montis - your rainbow, a poker star, and a true undata. i was really bummed that i missed out on your appleberry?? or whatever you called it
i took the frog from you and added a hammer and a torch we also picked up and glued them all on a really neat shaped rock for her - it is really neat looking. i should of took a pic before i sent it home with her
pike - i wasn't at mars but yeah i would say that this one was well worth the drive. i was amazed at the quality and "proffessionalism" of the traders that were there

johnanddawn be honest about our stand? This was our first swap so any constructive critisizm would be great??
HOw does the rainbow look for you yet, Im sure its browned out mine did this for about 3-4 weeks when I first got it. first the base will turn nice blue than the polyps will get all there color back.
Pike coral price was awesome i think. I know we went fairly low on out price's cause there were not alot of people there so I wanted to atleast make my gas money back.

oh and i would put my frags on here but it would be hard to get them to you guys cause I live in marshfield. but i have alot of common stuff left over. some rainbow montipora, orange digi, pink birds nest, green slimmer, a pink with blue tip milli, green cap, orange cap, green cap with purple rim, a purple acro, and a green granulosa, some of the frags browned out from all the shipping of them back and forth from rhinelander but it you would want to see the parent colonies I would gladly take some picks of them and the frags if anyone is interested.

I had lot's of frags and needed to make room so I sent them up with Tony and Scott. Sounds like they were quite a hit. It's species name is montipora verrucosa. Sold by the "brand" name "Apple blueberry denae"
I've always got frags available as it grows quite fast. I'm between Stratford and Wausau and if you plan to be in the area let me know and I'll make sure I've got a frag for you.

It seemed like there was more room then at the MARS swap, and just the opposite, alot of traders, with premium stuff, but noone to buy anything....
And the way it looks, it's kind of a bummer being a trader/seller, it seems like we miss out on alot of nice coral!! Such as that Apple Blueberry Danae... If I woulda seen that, I would've scored some!! Too busy trying to make sales!!:(

HOw does the rainbow look for you yet,
you had a very nice set up - i don't know how easy your set-up tear down went but it looked highy mobile and your stuff is nice
the rainbow didn't brown out at all - it actually looks pretty good
i did rush it a bit and put it up pretty high in my tank cause i bought those montis to fill in and grow up the overflow so i hope it doesn't bleach on me. the polyps are orangish and the base blue - thats what it should be right?, T5's have a habit of making everything look a little different. it is pretty shaggy though so i can hardly see the base color
i'm due for a tank update here pretty soon so i'll try to take some pics after i get everything mounted
jim - could you post up your link in here for those who would like to see your pics from the swap?

john the monti you got from me will deff get some better polyp color than orangish.. it will grow out to have many colors, green red and orange. if the base stayed blue this shouldnt take to long. and i dont think it will bleach out on you as it was under 250w mh good luck
