Should be good. I've grown an acro and monti caps with that fixture over a 10 gallon.
But now I have a 150 MH over my 10 gallon frag...

Yup, plenty.
SPS may be hit-or-miss---- montis for sure, birdsnest and pavona also, and acros (as the Lance mentioned) will be hit-or-miss.
Personally I would go with a 70-watt Metal Halide over a 10. Definitely enough light for clams and SPS, and definitely more light/PAR than a 96W PC bulb.
Check out www.diyreef.com for a decent 70W retrokit.

I'm using a 6 bulb PC fixture over my 10g frag. It uses those little 13w Biax T4 bulbs that are U-shaped. 78w over a 10g tank is a lot of light. Almost too much for mushrooms, acans and zoas, which is all I keep.
I have the following lights. All 13w PC:
2 - 10k
2 - Actinic
2 - 460

The PC will be enough, but it is not the best, and might be less efficient overall.
I had T5s (unfortunately with a cheap reflectors) over my old frag system and it was not until I installed MH that the system could keep SPS with good color and growth. Sure, the T5 could keep the SPS, but the growth was 1/5 of the MH rate
IMO light is energy, and energy is growth. The more light (depending on the species since there are exceptions) the more growth. My Zoas and shrooms love the 400w halides in my main tank!
