I just got a new zoa frag in, and found a few of these little things on one of them. they dont seem to be harming the zoas whereas they're opened up.

Very strange. Usually groups of pixels like those are only found on computers. I would definitely say there is something amiss!

:p

They are most likely a pod of some sort.

Check out this list of zoanthid predators and see if any match up. If not and the polyps are fine there is nothing to worry about!

no they dont look like a feather duster or anything. Just like a bristle from a bristle brush or something

To me, the drawing resembles an Aeolid nudibranch.

color blind and no camera this is a tough one. does the object have a slight curve to it with a lighter tip? it could just be a calcareous algae. is it actively moving around like an animal or stationary like a a plant would be?

Seeing that it's black and white; I'd say it was a panda :)

I'm still a little confused by the pic. Is it a critter thats crawling around or is it a tiny little tube/anemone type thing that is attached at the base?

i would not worry about that, it is hard to tell, but i think that it is just a type of red algae. if so your tangs/ algae eaters should take care of it
