I have an Iwaki 70RLT as my return, the flow is where I want it to be but man this thing is loud. I tried a Dart first, and it was just as loud, and I need a high pressure pump with all the twists and turns on my return plumbing. The tank is an in wall, in the basement, and I can hear the pump all the way on the second floor. Anyone out there have any suggestions, either a better, quieter pump or a way to really silence this thing?

What do you need for flow?

That Dart isn't rated for pressure, but it still should be pretty quiet, definitely not audible upstairs. I would also look at other Reeflo pumps, like the Tarpon. If you want silence, the Velocities are dead quiet, but do not have high GPH.

I'm sure someone will chime in better info, but here's my suggestions in case you have not done yet.

Place some hose in between the pump and PVC pipe if that is what you are using. Instead of having the pump hard piped directly.

Get some heavy rubber mat to place the pup on top of it.

Should help cut down on the vibration noise.
