Can I sterilize/re-use this brute?

When I moved, I tore down my tanks. One of my brutes was used to store my live rock, the other got left outside to accumulate all types of organic matter (rain water, pine needles, leaves, etc) and POSSIBLY a garbage bag or 2. I can visually see some dark color on the bottom few inches of the container. Would it be possible to sterilize this brute with bleach water and re-use as SW storage?

I know brutes aren't too expensive, but money is tight and would like to know if this is a safe option.

I don't see any reason why cleaning it out not make it safe. I have done it many times to be honest. The brute should not absorb anything into the plastic.

I don't think organic debris is going to be much of a problem. I might worry about motor oil, though. :)
