Upgrade my T5 to 80w !

Hi ,,,,

I have Sfligoi Zenith pandent 2 x 250w and 4 x t5 54w , can i upgrade it to 4x t5 80w ? and how ?

You would want to upgrade the ballasts to IceCap ballasts. I do not know if you will need one or two IceCap 660 ballasts, but if you post this question in the IceCap sponsor forum on the main Reef Central page (way down toward the bottom), IceCap will answer your question directly.

However, you also need to add cooling fans on the bulbs and plan on replacing them every 6-8 months. Cooling fans are a MUST when overdriving a T5 lamp.

Yes, you will need to upgrade the ballast to an Icecap 660. One Icecap 660 should be able to drive 4x54w to around 80w each or so.

You might also have to redo the wiring, but I'm not sure on that one.

Yes as others have said. You will need an IC 660 ballast, wiring harness and then rewire it. A fan is also a very good choice as the bulbs get quite hot while overdriving them. You will also need a place for the IC 660 as it is a larger balast
