Is a 40G breeder considered a NANO?

Sure it is, so long as the 40B is the sump and a 29 is the display tank. So what if the sump is above the display tank? ;)

haha.....i was told the other day that 40br's are actually 45g. i've never done the calculations but.....with that in mind i dont really consider my tank a nano. i started with a 10g so compared to that my tank is huge. i know its not a big reef but i dont think its a nano.

well it's not the 180 it needs to be for large reef tanks, so where do you post such a tank? it's really silly in my eyes since most tanks fall in between 40 and 180....

Exactly.

sectionalize part of the back or 1 end to make it an all-in-one & then if the "display" is 34g or less then technically it is now a nano.....or at least that's how i'd interpret this:

"....we've decided to limit posting in the Nano forum to tanks with a main tank of 34 gallons and under. No distinction will be made for conventional tanks or All In One tanks (AIO)...."

 LOL
