I currently have a tank with all HOB equipment. I am planning to upgrade to a 90 gallon tank and want to run everything in the stand. The tank has a corner overflow with 2, one inch holes.

First, can someone help with the basic concept of a sump layout, and what all the compartments are for. Also, how a fuge ties into it all.

Second, how many gallons per hour can a 1 inch hole accomidate?
In a 90 gallon tank, is a 1inch drain and a 1 inch input enough?

Thanks

check out melevsreef.com for ideas for your sump. It'll explain all of that and it has quite a few examples. You don't have to make it completely out of acrylic like he does though. A standard tank, some plexiglass and some aquarium safe silicon is all you really need. HTH
