View Full Version : Angel Eye Question

I have a 5" Chrysurus Angel (5 days now) that I just noticed in the QT feeding tonight that one pupil is larger than the other. Both eyes are clear and the fish sees me and food coming from all angles._ Is this an issue brewing or is it a birth defect?_ The previous owner had the fish for over 2 years so it is well used to being in captivity._ Thanks for your help.

No thoughts on the eye difference?

Just the pupil is bigger, not the entire eye?

If it's just the pupil, I'd say he has a fishy version of something like cataracts, which I dont think you'll be able to do anything about.

If it's the entire eye bulging, you have some options.

No eye is physically larger than the other. I just did a search to find some pictures online to see if the larger or small pupil eye is the normal one. As weird as it sounds the larger pupil looked like the ones on the subadult version and the small pupil on the full adult version. I will have to watch for any changes to either one or any cloudiness.
