Looking for a diamond dremel wheel to cut rock off with coral.
I found the following one, is it too small or too cheap....?
the dremel I am using is a wireless one.

I've used the first one (bought at lowes.... much much more expensive...) to frag acans and it works great. I've heard people use it on tile but I haven't tried it yet.

oops, Lance thanks for your suggestion, I ordered the second one, because the diameter is bigger, I can cut deeper. I bought it for fragging an acan

I would like a bigger diameter to cut deeper like you said, but I try to keep as many polyps intact as I can so a smaller diameter seems easier for me since I have small acans (like < 10 heads) but I guess if you had a large colony or didnt care about cutting through the polyps then the bigger one would be better.

Let me know how it goes.

best way is a band saw

I used my dremel with diamond wheel (the small one in the first link) and it easily cut through the tumbled marble tile, the only problem is the diameter is too small so it makes it hard to cut the entire tile.

Ye, but it always says not using a powertools to cut the tissue, the bad saw or diamond cutting wheel make a bigger wound on coral than handheld blade.

got the 2'' diameter diamond wheel, not very impressive, it cuts very slow. I don't feel cutting, more like grinding the rock off.

I like band saws, but they have limits. This is a link to a diamond ring saw. With a ring saw you are cutting on diamond coated WIRE which is quite ridgid. This allows you to change directionswith your cuts at will. Saves polyps, and allows you more freedom in shaping the frag to a more natural appearance.

I have the gray on on the left. Works great

that one is professional. I got what I paid....:) I don't want to buy a $$$ saw for my $$ corals, lol.

Try the smaller ones. I like them.

smaller one is more powerful than bigger one? where did you buy it from?

It cuts very quickly w/ a relatively small cut. I bought mine from lowe's for $15 but the first link you have in your original post is the exact same thing and for $4 for 5 diamond wheels I would try it.
