I'd both about 2 years or so and all of a sudden both stopped working within two weeks. Anyone else having this problem? I can't find the receipts but remember it was about 6 months after they came out when I got them. At the time many online vendors were backordered. I bought a Magnum 8 last year at this rate I may have to replace it next year.
I just searched online and their guarantee is only 24 months. Any idea on the repair or should I just buy something else to replace them? TIA!

I would try cleaning them up well first. If that does not solve the problem I would replace them. I

Long soak in vinegar. Make sure the shaft does not have any coraline or anything on it causing the prop to stick.

If the cleaning doesn't work...........just pack it up and ship it back to Hydor (directly). No questions asked, (as long as you did not damage the unit yourself) they send you a brand new one.
I run several Koralia's and Hydor has replaced 3 for me so far.
Great company!!!

Thank you so much for all the replies. I'll get them cleaned with vinegar this afternoon and see if I can revive them. Otherwise I'll ship them back and see if Hydor will either repair or replace them. If was odd that both dying within 2 weeks.

Just out of curiosity, were you running them on any type of "wave maker" / flow controller?

No, they weren't on any wave maker and both pumps were in different tanks. I run Tunze on controller and Taam Polario 22L for wave.

i had the same issues, 3 - 4's in less than 3 years are dead.
tried cleaning them and the whole shot.
i calle dthem and they are taking care of it but imo they should last longer than a couple years.
2 are dead and 1 is leaching current into the tank

What are the measurements of the leakage?

Had them soaked in diluted vinegar for couple of hours but still not working. No vibration whatsoever. I'll be sending them to Hydor and will report back here.

I just got two 3's and one 1 for my 75 gallon.
Wonder if a bit of Might Mend-it on the prop on the one to make it a bigger prop will increase the output...hmmm....

I have had problems with the 4's. The local reef store has stopped selling the fours. Almost everyone has had this problem. I spoke with several reefers in other areas and they had the same problems. They work for about a month and stop working.

I'm glad I get the freaks then, my 3/4s are nonstop and my magnum 6s are on a wavemaker.
I love my hydors!

I ran a 4 for about a year along with a couple of 3's. They were all running fine when I replaced them with Vortechs.

I had ran 2 K-4 in my 75 gallon for only 7 months and they always work really well for their purpose, later on I replaced them by Tunze 6045 because of the size,if I have bigger tank at that time,I would keep them but they really look big in 75 gallon tank with only 16" deep.
