Bad for a tank to be left dry?

Well thats pretty much the question. Is it hard on the silicone if you leave the tank dry. I ask because my tank is in my garage waiting for me to finish building my stand and my sump.

Dunno about loooong term, but my QT stays up in the attic until I need it. Gets cold up there in the winter, and hot as heck in the summer--and after about 15 years of that, still holds water...

Thanks for the response that definately leaves me at ease. I can work on my build without being in a hurry cause I am ruining my tank.
