I just finished building a new sump for one of my 75 gal tanks, or at least I am pretty close to finishing, still have just a little tweaking to do tomorrow on it. What I was wondering from some of you is what do you consider to be an optimum light distance for your refugium.
This one has a water depth of 12" and the light from the surface of the water is 7" which puts it a basically 12" from the top of the Cheato right at the moment.

The lights are 65k compact spirals over 2 different types of Cheato and to me they seem to light things up pretty well, but still seem like they are a bit higher up than they should be so I thought I would get some more input.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
