My office AC window unit will only cool the office to around 80 with these 100 degree days. My 24g nano has been running around 89 degrees, not good!

I would get some fans or something. And I would shorten the photo period.

My 15g is near a window and it is for sure a little warmer than normal. I decreased my 10k's by a couple hours and turned off my BRS Carbon Reactor to help. Most of the corals I have do just fine under 2 bulbs of T5 actinic so I am ok so far. :D

I've been leaving the feeding lid open with a small fan blowing over it (lots of evaporation!) and the lights are cut down too.....its just plain hot in the office! Today is better since the temp outside is down, its running around 83 or so.

Prior to getting the chiller running on my 300, I was starting to creep up 3 degrees in the day, over a few days. I started a fan over the top of the 300 and turned the AC in the house on, and that brought it down one degree. So, it was time to go out and get a chiller. The chiller has me right between 78 and 79 degrees constantly.

I take empty Gatorade Plastic bottles and fill them with water and freeze them. If my tank temp. creaps up, i just float a frozen bottle in my sump. Works great. HTH

Thats a good idea!! Of course a Gatorade bottle would fill my nano up......... I think I'll give that a shot tomorrow!

I accidently left my AC jr on manual control. Left my 3 - 400 watt halides on at my office for about 5 days. Needless to say I'm having issues lol.

I'm running a reverse photoperiod so the lights are on at night when it's cooler, and forget the little clamp on fans to help cool the tank, I'm using a 20" box fan. It keeps the temp barely within the safe range but it works. I loose 2 gallons a day from a 46 gallon tank due to evaporation though.

The Ice trick is working!!

I put a frozen bottle of water in the tank and the temp is down from 84 to around 80 degree's, hopefully it will stay down through the day!!! Thanks for the idea Chris!

Get a osilating fan from wal mart that is mounted on a pole on the base and blow it at the tank, turn the osilating off. If the room is at 80 it well keep the tank cool, you well just have more evap., and turn the lights off unless pc's. all but a couple hrs a day.
