I am trying to connect my mag7 pump to my corner-flo kit. The output from the pump is a 1/2 " threaded male valve and the instructions I'm following (Melev's sumps 101) are advising me use a 1" return pipe. Trouble is I spent the better part of 2 hours at Home Depot and Lowes trying to find a coupling combination that would fit the 1/2" to the 1". Very frustrating jigsaw puzzle.

Wouldn't it have been easier for Mag to make the valve 1" in width??!! :mad2:

ps/I'm not blaming Melev--the corner-flo pipes are 1" also...

All you need is a 1/2" threaded to 1" slip bushing and you are at 1".

I guess it is possible both hardware stores were out of that particular piece?

I find that Lowes usually has the better selection for sch 40. You can always try Ace as well but they can be pricey. Look at the link pic. That is what I am talking about. This particular one is even spigot style on the 1" side so it will slip right into a coupler or elbow or tee etc etc.....

Thanks! I'm glad I can blame HD and Lowes instead of my ignorance :)

Back to the drawing board tomorrow....

in my town, Ace beats the pants off the selection at either Lowes or HD

you may have to use a 1" to 3/4" bushing reducer then a 3/4" to 1/2" threaded bushing reducer. extra parts i know but will be easier to find than 1" to 1/2" threaded reducer

You cant see me now, but I'm doing the happy dance. Found what I needed at a diff Home Depot. A 1/2" piece that connected right to a 1" piece that fits the 1" pvc.

Now I can move forward with the set-up....
